Abstract: 

In this research, a cost-effective magnetic field sensor with high sensitivity was designed based on thinned optical fiber covered with magnetic fluid. Nano ferrofluid characterized through X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The magnetic sensor was prepared by placing the ferrofluid around optical fibers with the same length and different diameters. The effect of fiber diameters on the sensor properties was investigated experimentally. Fiber optic with 0. 4 mm in diameter exhibited the highest sensitivity 0. 0189 mT/dbm and the widest range of field detection from 2. 5 mT to 122. 5 mT. The Sensor illustrated linear response around 99% in its optimal performance mode.

Abstract: 

Radar cross section (RCS) calculation is an important issue of objects stealth and identification. It is necessary to design the RCS software because of the high cost of RCS measurements in practice. In this paper, designing of efficient software using physical Optics theorem for radar cross section calculation of the complex perfect electric conductors or complex dielectric objects for high frequencies is investigated. In this method, first the object will be meshed in Abaqus Software. Then the obtained data of every mesh is transferred to MATLAB Software and, after that, the physical Optics theorem is applied for every mesh, with considering the summation of electric fields that is seen from each mesh. As the result, the radar cross section of total object will be obtained. Simulations results show the proposed method has good agreement with CST-MS results and determines the RCS of the objects with lower complexity in the lower time consuming.

Abstract: 

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is one of the most successful techniques of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and is mostly in use for the treatment of infertility with male factors. In this method, before injecting sperm into the intracytoplasmic of the oocyte, cumulus cells around the oocyte must be stripped to facilitate the injection process. To achieve this, both enzymatic and mechanical methods are used in embryological laboratories for denudation, which has major deficiencies, including the possibility of damaging the oocyte prior to the injection process. In this research, a microfluidic-based device is introduced for the separation of cumulus cells around the oocyte with minimum manual operations. The results prove high efficiency, and non-destructive denudation of the oocyte with the reduced amount of culture medium leads to the low-cost preparation process of oocytes. The process can also be integrated with ICSI chips under development and will be reported shortly.
